We aim to source logs from certified sustainable forests. These logs enter our Chain of Custody Certification system and produce the "Timbers by Nature" range.
Harris sawmilling operations process green sawn logs, in particular; Jarrah, Marri and WA Blackbutt.
We run a small facility that primarily produces timber for our dry processing plant. Green sawn timber is available for sale (currently Jarrah only) and non-standard products can be cut to customer specifications.
As part of our commitment to the future of the industry we maintain Chain of Custody certification over all timber that is in our "Timbers by Nature" range. These logs and the timber cut from them are identified and segregated through the entire production process, from the moment they arrive on the log trucks to when we finally machine them into quality flooring or decking. This ensures that we can guarantee that all products sold with this label have been produced from timber that is 100% certified from a sustainable source.
We aim to recover the highest possible yield available from our logs. We cut specifically for high quality products, with lower grade logs being used for structural material. Waste products are converted into sawdust which is sold locally or turned into firewood which is used as a bio fuel.
